Iron Fighting Alliance 2 - Preview

The Iron Fighting Alliance returns to action on Saturday.

The all-ammy promotion is a partnership between James Dalton from JD's Gym in South County and the Scott brothers, Derek and Shaun. The team is getting back together for an encore after a successful offering this past April. You can read a recap from their first event that saw Kevin Roper win in the main event.

The American Czech Education Center will once again play host and one of last year's breakout amateurs, Nathan Stearns will be back in the cage, albeit up a weight class from where we last saw him. Stearns will face Jarrett Levette in a welterweight contest. It will be interesting to see what Stearns looks like after being on the shelf since March, and coming off a loss. Stearns was thoroughly dominant in an exhibition grappling match at Cage Champs in July.

The main event was to feature Mike Offor vs. Eli Neese. Offor had a heck of a dogfight this past weekend and came away with a submission win. This week, Offor is unable to fight, and the search is on for a replacement. Illinois' Neese took nearly a four-year break, returning in August with a submission victory. Neese is about as tough as they come.

A feature bout is scheduled to take place at welterweight with Zack "Bam Bam" Knickman taking on Max Boyd. Boyd has been out of action since 2011 in a bout with now-pro Aaron Highfill while Knickman has been much more active fighting primarily out of Oklahoma, making his Missouri MMA debut.

In what should be an exciting kickboxing match-up, Dirk Jones, formerly of Watson Martial Arts, will face Seven Corner Road's Chiavy Rith. Both fighters focus almost exclusively on training their striking, so this should be good.

Rounding out the main card is Gaston Maraboto and Chico Bean both taking on opponents to be announced.
