Inside the Gym: Gracie Humaita St. Louis

Recently we were invited to visit Gracie Humaita in St. Peters, located just off Hwy 94 between Mid Rivers Mall Dr and Jungermann.

Nick Schrock, a Gracie jiu-jitsu blue belt, won the Absolute division at the Abu Dhabi World Championships in May. This is one of many, success stories from the young team at Gracie Humaita St. Louis. A team lead by Royler Gracie/David Adiv black belt, JW Wright.

Professor Wright has been teaching Gracie jiu-jitsu in the are for 10 years, and has also holds a black belt in Russian Sambo.

Wright also has a budding MMA career having fought on the December 2010 Strikeforce event and most recently headlining the November Fight Me event at the Family Arena. Unfortunately injuries sustained in his battle against Ray Grindstaff has put the veteran grappler on the shelf.
