Rumble Time Promotions - February Fight Card

Last March, Rumble Time returned to mixed martial arts with a vengeance. Best known for their boxing, Steve Smith and company partnered up with Ameristar Casino and jumped head first into MMA. With Jim Jenkins on board as the matchmaker, they set the mark high.

How good were the matches? Four of their main events landed on our Fight of the Year nominations.

With the departure of Jenkins in October, St. Charles MMA coach Mike Rogers has taken on duties as matchmaker and he looks to maintain the quality set by his predecessor.

Lots of local gyms are represented on the card, making this a diverse blend of talent that features fighters from Berger's MMA, Watson Martial Arts, Destruction MMA, and St. Charles MMA to name a few.

Some familiar faces will be returning to the promotion including Alp Ozkilic, who was in the co-main event from October's event, fan-favorite Danny "Johnny Irish" O'Connor, and Jake Trtanj.

Ozkilic, a gifted grappler, will be increasing his level of competition when he takes on the No. 69 (FightMatrix.com) flyweight in the world, Josh Robinson from Toldeo, OH. Also making the trip in from Ohio is Cincinnati's Quinn Broomfield, who will be fighting O'Connor in the co-main event. Trtanj will be facing Jake Buheler from Hann's MMA in his pro debut.

One match that Rogers thinks could steal the show is John Davis and Juan Parra. Both are young pros with a lot to gain. Also making his pro debut that night will be Kirk Huff from St. Charles MMA, he is slated to take on the always-tough Davey Callow.

The initial amateur offerings also look very strong with four highly touted ammys already announced.
