Shamrock FC president Jesse Finney said it would be a busy year, and he wasn't lying.
When the doors open on Saturday night it will be the fourth Pro/Am of the year, and with a half dozen events already to come, they show no signs of slowing down. In June, Shamrcok will host their 15th Anniversary show at the new theater inside River City Casino, and based on what has already been revealed, this will be their biggest show in the company's history.
While it would be easy to get lost in the shuffle, Annihilation is a solid card with some really good match-ups. This event will be headlined by Garrett Gross and Nic Anderson. Gross is fighting out of American Top Team and before that out of Animal House in Du Quoin, IL. It was during his time at Animal House where he put together his impressive amateur career. Now a respectable (3-3) as a pro, Gross hasn't taken many easy fights. Nic Anderson will be no different despite his (0-3) record. Fans of Shamrock FC will remember Anderson's duel with Kevin Engel last June.
In the co-main event, "Smiling" Josh Stewart will be back. He lost a tough fight to Jake Buehler recently, and despite his (1-3) record, is a very solid fighter. Stewart will take on Enrique Watson.
If you were at January's "Fury" you remember the Marc Godeker and Brian Schell going toe-to-toe. Schell was victorious that night, but the Hit Squad's Godeker is back, an looks to be in tip-top shape.

Another great fight on the main card is Malcolm Smith who has yet to taste victory as a pro taking on recent Florida transplant Donny Brook. Besides having the best name in MMA, Donny Brook brings a lot of skill to the cage. Brook turned pro at a young 18, and while a brief stay in the military prevented him from getting many fights, the young lightweight is now training full time and ready to face Smith. Smith from Hahn MMA is hungry for a win, and hasn't had an easy road so far losing to the very game Vincent Eazelle, and the highly tout'ed Hugh Pulley.
If you are a fan of women's MMA, Nikki Smith always puts on a show. Saturday she will be matched up against Kayla Potter.
Dustin Lampros and Bryant Crites is a fight to watch out for on the undercard, and could potentially steal the show.
Also another match-up between two great young grapplers is a battle between Andrew Berger and Ben Chesser. This has the makings of a great, technical, grappling match.
Impressive rookie from Finney's MMA, Joaquin Buckley will lead things off against Sebastian Coxie.
