Shamrock FC: Fuel - Main Event Update

It was a costly few pounds for Danny Aguirre.

Aguirre is slated to face Jordan Howard in the main event championship fight of tonight's Shamrock FC: Fuel at the River City Casino.

At Thursday's weigh-ins, Aguirre came in 1.8 pounds over 135-pound limit.

Aguirre was given the chance to get the rest of the weight off but never reached the official bantamweight bout.

So, if Aguirre (9-3) is to come out victorious he would not only miss out on winning Howard's SFC belt but also a Bellator contract that is on the table.

For Howard (8-3), a win still means the same that it always has but were he to lose, Howard would still be the SFC bantamweight champ and his next would be not only a title defense but for a Bellator contract.

"We're extremely excited about tonight's event with the Bellator contracts and belts on the the line," SFC president Jesse Finney said. "Jordan was on weight like a true professional. We're disappointed that Danny missed weight but he has to suffer the consequences."

The evening's co-main event will also be for a SFC title and a Bellator contract as Rebecca Ruth faces Alice Yauger.
