Shamrock FC Targets New Market

Aptly named, Invasion will launch in 48 hours in Kansas City. The event marks Shamrock FC's first major step to building its brand outside of St. Louis.

On Friday, Shamrock FC will take over the 1,000-plus seat venue at Harrah's Casino with a nine-fight pro-am card.

Shamrock FC's Jesse Finney became familiar with the KC market by putting on amateur-only shows through his affiliation with Blue Corner Promotions.

"Kansas City is a great fight town," Finney said.

Of his large stable of fighters in St. Louis at Finney's MMA, only top, young prospect Joquiom Buckley is making the trip across state to fight. The bulk of the card is made from fighters around the Kansas City area.

"St. Louis may have a little more as far as talent goes but Kansas City has grinders, tough kids," Finney said. "Their standup or jiu-jitsu talent pool may not be as deep (as St. Louis) but they know how to win fights."
