Weekend Preview: July 20th & 21st

After a short break, the weekend preview is back! Two events Friday and one Saturday make for a busy weekend in the area.

The action is starting to heat up for what should be a busy rest of July, August, and September and it all starts tonight.

Starting things off, tonight, in Belleville is the Brawl in the Ballroom. Jim Boucher and Champions Productions consistently produces entertaining shows, and expect this one to not be any different. They return to Fischer's Ballroom after a two month break.

These shows feature some of the best fighters from just across the river. Alumni includes top amateur prospects now turned pro: Andrew Sanchez, Chris Heatherly, Javon Wright, among others.

A short drive away in Booneville, MO at the Isle of Capri Casino is the Midwest Fight League. A show they are billing as "The Fists Will Fly"

Featured on the card is the MMA debut of head Muay Thai instructor for Vaghi Martial Arts, Quention O'Brien.

Midwest Fight League features fighters from Columbia, St. Louis, and Kansas City.

Saturday in Afton at the St. Louis Sports Center is Collision Course. Inner Circle Promotions and the Gateway Fight League are coming together for one night sending the best from both promotions at each other to see whats left standing.

In the main event Buddy McGinnis will be taking on a very tough CJ Hunter. McGinnis is ranked #2 at 145 and #1 at 155 by Spire. He lost a very close fight against Danny Branson at Cage Champs 37 back in April. Hunter is coming off a decision victory over another tough featherweight, Brandon Knight.

Also on the card is both Ronny Harper and his twin brother Robby Harper. This will be the first time both Harper brothers have been on the same card together. Ronny will be taking on Gio Rubio who has fought many times for the Gateway Fight League.
