Weekend Preview: March 30th & 31st

Two nearby events highlight this weekend's action. If you don't have anything planned this weekend, go support live MMA in the area!

First up on Friday, the Sport Fighting League returns to the Heart of St. Charles. A new set of fighters will be competing in the Gateway to the Top tournament. Jim Jenkins has hand picked 4 lightweight fighters that will compete for a chance at pro contract with the SFL and possible sponsorship opportunities. SFL recently completed tournaments at 170 and 145 with Hugh Pulley winning the welterweight contract and Travis Draper winning at featherweight.

The card will also feature fighters from Berger's MMA, CMMA in Granite City, and Xplosive MMA, among others.

On Saturday, Cagetime Promotions returns with Rage in the Cage III at 2 Hearts Banquet Center in Sunset Hills.

In the main event Harlan Feutral will be taking on "Mean" Mike Green from Southside Fight Club for Mike's 155 Battleground belt. This will be the rubber match in the series as each man has a win over the other. Feutral won their first meeting with a submission victory while Green evened the score with a decision back in November of 2010.

In the co-main event, Kris Hetlage will be taking on Israel Lopez. Hard punching Hetlage looks to continue his winning streak against Lopez.

Also fighting on Saturday are fighters from Berger's MMA, Fort Riley Combatives, Finney's, and SouthSide Fight Club, among others.
